9.5M Gain Coverage Under Obamacare

According to new reports, at least 9.5 million previously uninsured people have obtained health-care coverage under the Affordable Care Act since enrollment began in October. (Monday is the end of open enrollment for 2014.) This marks the largest expansion in coverage since the creation of Medicare and Medicaid in 1965. Fewer than 1 million people who lost their coverage are still uninsured, contrary to Republican claims a wave of cancellations would result in a net reduction in coverage. The data is culled from reviews of state and federal enrollment reports and interviews with insurance execs and government officials.
