You don't punish a million innocent citizens for the acts of a few.

...does this mean that the liberal position on stricter gun laws for law abiding citizens has changed?

Liberals are like a "Slinky". Totally useless, but somehow ya can't help but smile when you see one tumble down a flight of stairs!

So disenfranchising a few million poor, elderly and minority voters is your solution, eh? In a free society, the resolution of a problem should be both appropriate and proportional. You don't punish a million innocent citizens for the acts of a few.

Come back when you're ready to apply that same ratio of punishment to criminals in the banking industry.
