we won't be starting ww3 if we offer them air cover in defence of their country. why should we not do so? they are an independent country.
let putin make the decision to have that fight.
we are by no means powerless to have putin's decisions have a downside. right now, he sees us as too wet to do anything.
he's not stupid. he wants to avoid ww3 also. he will do what he thinks he can get away with. the thing we need to change is the equation in which we project weakness. putin needs to know russia will be harmed and he will have to deal with the consequences back home. that is the way to avoid war.
