What's the explanation for Russian troops inside Crimea/Ukraine, but with no markings, identification, thugs beating up opposition, vehicles with no markings. They must be so proud... What's the backstory on the independence of Crimea?

Russia wanted to be considered European, from everything we heard a couple years back, Ukraine wants to join the EU, or at least half do... It's the old guard, the ones that want to go backward that are leaning to Russia and the old days.. Rather like our teabaggers... And why the teabaggers seem to love Putin now... Backward, forever backward...

OK, along this same lines, and considering what day it is, what's your view with respect to Northern Ireland? Should the US interject ourselves into that situation as well? After all, ANYONE who can read a map will surely see that Northern Ireland belongs to IRELAND and not the UK.

I mean if we're going to start down that road where do we stop? You should look into the histories of places like Kuwait, Singapore, Luxembourg and half the Balkans to see countries which have been carved out from others. And take a look at what happened in the years leading up to WWII when Germany made it's claims that it was simply correcting the map of Europe using the idea that since they were only 'liberating' countries where the German language was dominate that they were just correcting a failure in cartography. This is exactly the same argument being made by Putin with respect to Crimea and the Ukraine.
