OK, along this same lines, and considering what day it is, what's your view with respect to Northern Ireland? Should the US interject ourselves into that situation as well? After all, ANYONE who can read a map will surely see that Northern Ireland belongs to IRELAND and not the UK.

I mean if we're going to start down that road where do we stop? You should look into the histories of places like Kuwait, Singapore, Luxembourg and half the Balkans to see countries which have been carved out from others. And take a look at what happened in the years leading up to WWII when Germany made it's claims that it was simply correcting the map of Europe using the idea that since they were only 'liberating' countries where the German language was dominate that they were just correcting a failure in cartography. This is exactly the same argument being made by Putin with respect to Crimea and the Ukraine.

Instead of imposing sanctions, we should be working with the Russians.

We are on the wrong side in this situation. Crimea belongs with Russia.

The official position of the US is dead wrong.
