you know what.

i don't like invasions too much.

but compared with the us in iraq, this one isn't so bad.

the crimean people are mostly russian. it was russian territory until 50 years ago or so. it is dominated by russian bases.

losing crimea allows the rump ukraine to move westward.

it sorta makes sense.

i wonder if the loss of crimea will tip the balance of power westward in the rump of ukraine.

if so, putin made a big mistake.
