Kiwigate: New Zealand Backs Away from Doctored Temperature Data

The New Zealand Climate Science Coalition has uncovered evidence that New Zealand’s national temperature record has been doctored by scientists working with the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) to show substantial 20th century warming when in fact no warming occurred.
Raw data from New Zealand official temperature stations showed no warming during the last century. But Jim Salinger, an IPCC lead author who oversees the New Zealand official temperature data, made arbitrary adjustments to the raw data that produced a fictional warming of one full degree Celsius. One degree Celsius is nearly twice the generally accepted amount of global warming (whether from natural or anthropogenic sources) that occurred during the 20th century.
