Hi Cactus,

I think you missed my point.

Dunn was NOT found guilty of killing Jordon.
He was found guilty of attempted murder of the other three teens.

I don't want him executed, I want him to be held accountable for killing a Black teenager!
As it stands, he is NOT!

Hi clo,

Hypotheticals. If he fired no shots into the vehicle, he would also be a free man. But he fired several of them rather than a single one and the court noted this fact.

I believe in putting folks away for life and not in execution. I have no lust for anyone's blood and I think government killing of criminals is a kind of judicially sanctioned murder.

This stupid and callous man has the sentence that suits the crime, however it was derived. There were no mitigating circumstances.

It makes sense to remove Dunn from the streets because he is dangerous.

We can't bring the victim back. A guilty verdict and a life sentence expresses the fact that there's a penalty for killing people wantonly and lying about how it happened.

There's nothing more to achieve with this case.

As regards the broader point, each of these things was annoying. People who are annoyed lose their tempers. People who lose their tempers do stuff they may later regret.

I submit - people will always get annoyed with others. Post mortem, you can't adequately resolve the consequences of people losing their tempers. Where a gun is involved, irritation will occasionally result in death.

You can't change normal human behaviour. The solution is to reduce the availability of guns.

America does not seem able to do this thing. Therefore it should not complain about the obvious consequences of its culture. When someone gets irritated, someone else dies. Sometimes.

This is ridiculous, but it is what the US government and its states and its people permit to continue.

For myself, I wouldn't live in Florida.
