Are you suggesting that without farm subsides a company like Archer Daniels Midland couldn't make a profit, or that without those tax credits, EXXON/Mobile will show a loss? Please get real! If big oil and agribusinesses continue to demand that they need government help, why shouldn't we also be investing for a future when we've passed 'peak oil' and the cost of carbon-based fuels really start to rise? It's just a matter of time, perhaps not this year or even this decade, but that day will come and it could be much sooner than you think.

BTW, speaking of ADM and 'alternate energy', why is it that we've subsidized their production of ethanol for all these years?
