A Government Accountability Office (GAO) report -- commissioned by Sen. Robert Byrd, D-W.Va., and Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., and released today -- confirms that Bush's use of presidential signing statements are, in fact, utterly without precedent.

Though the GAO report makes no claims about the legitimacy of Bush's statements or of the use of statements in general,

More of the 'Bush Lied' by democrats . . . I remind
you that, before the invasion of Iraq, the democrat
party was screaming the same things Bush was.
And, remembering congress nasty little habit of
passing 'monster bills' that are NOT actually bills
but conglomerations of crap larded with earmarks -
which are themselves Un-Constitutional . . ..
What I saw in your 'news article' was Bush trying to
exercise his Constitutional Veto authority over
conglomerations of crap passed by a congress acting
most Un-Constitutionally.
In contrast, obamba is trying to rule U.S. by
executive order fiat.
And if you was to honestly look at what obamba has
'accomplished' over the last five years . . . .
It has not been good.
Zim.

Mad Poet Strikes Again.
