ImageWriters were workhorses, until dot-matrix & the LaserWriter came along... Gave my Fat Mac away to a Niece as she went on to college, served her well... Bought it from a product placement fellow, delivered to the door! $1500 I think it was... But moved along.. New LaserWriter IInt, lasted for many years, but a little pricey, $2500 or so... Hate to think what we paid over the years as I upgraded to the various bigger, faster models, passing the prior on to family... Still have a few working G4 iMacs, desktops, laptop, but everyone is now up on Intel machines, so I only keep them as a novelty in the closet or if I need to access an old file... Maybe dedicate a shelf in the garage, make more room for even more newer ones!

That LW IInt used to make the lights in here dim as it's fuser cycled, so I gave it and it's backup away... Kept the room warm! Looking for a simple HP laser again, do some b/w flyers... Still the cheapest to use for bigger projects..

We bought our first 'Mac' in June 1985, when the 512k 'Fat Mac' was introduced.

This was our first computer 'set-up'. I still use the desk for my current home office but the 'Fat Mac' has been put away in the attic in it's original box (perhaps it will be worth something someday as it still works but the dot-matrix printer was junked years ago).
