Nuclear power is hardly cost effective, or at least it wouldn't be if the power companies had to pay for ALL of the costs to society that are incurred as a result of building, inspecting and eventually decommissioning of nuclear plants. And there's the cost of storing the used fuel rods which are 100 times more radioative after they are used up than before they were put into the reactor and the Plutonium, which the Uranium has been transmuted into, is the deadliest and most poisonous material known to man, to say nothing of its attractiveness to terrorists so it not only has to be stored where it won't harm, anyone, it must to protected against someone stealing it, thus it becomes the responsibility of the government to see to that, at taxpayers expense. You don't see taxpayer's money being wasted protecting wind farms or solar arrays from being stolen by terrorist do you? And when a solar cell or a wind turbine has reached the end of its useful life, we don't have to bury them in leadlined casks, in some underground bunker somewhere either.

Do you wanna do something about the man made global
warming?

Do you wanna reduce the amount of carbon in the
atmosphere?

There is really only one viable cost effective
technology for producing the power we will consume
without the carbon emmissions.
