While he had been a general and had no love for Arabs nor the Palestinians, he knew that as long as settlers insisted on 'stealing' land in the occupied zones that Israel would never be secure and that was his goal, not necessarily 'peace' but secure borders with people feeling safe in their homes and on the street.
