BAP,

have you tried doing these two things?
1. Restart your computer and enter the setup. Set DEFAULT values there.

Next, shut off the computer. Take side panel off. On your motherboard, locate the CLEAR CMOS pins near the battery and put a jumper on them to clear the cmos.

Before doing that, unplug the power cable to the computer. If you cannot find the CLEAR CMOS jumper pins, just remove the battery for about 15 minutes.

After the cmos has been cleared and you have reset all BIOS values to default settings go ahead a restart the computer.

It should behave normally again. Blinking cursor should be gone and anything else.

Give it a try when you have time.
