When I worked for Western I did once eat a brownie that I was later told had pot in it. It had no effect. Maybe there was not that much in it.

I smoked from age six (picking up cigarette butts off the street) until I was 26. I quit sever times but would be talking to a smoker and be given a cigarette. I would have smoked most of it before I realized what I was doing. Habits are hard to break. Then I got a bad cold and could not smoke and breathe. Took two weeks to get over the cold. I was working in an area were almost no one smoked. I figured if I could go for two weeks, I could go forever. Threw away the rest of the pack and never looked back.

I've never done drugs. Only smoked cigarettes for about 3 months in high school but did smoke cigars, but only socially, while in college. Did drink some beer in high school, and beer and liquor in college, but now only a beer once in awhile and again, only socially. The only 'pot' I've ever 'done' was via secondhand smoke in college and more recently, at a couple of poker games a few years ago with an old, and now deceased, boss and some other co-workers.

However, our sons have had more issues. The oldest is fully hooked on nicotine while number 2 kicked smoking about 6 years ago and has never started-up again, but has to watch his drinking, which he has been doing pretty well for the last few years. It's our youngest who has smoked or huffed just about anything that you could think of, however he got 'religion' after he and his wife hit bottom when they lost their daughter two years ago. He's been clean for close to 9 months now and has even stopped smoking although he does use an E-cigarette but claims he's down to almost no nicotine. So I guess things could be a lot worse.

Anyway, have a Happy one and good health for the coming year.
