CF,

We talked about this many moons ago, it's about "raising the bar", keep the kids and petty criminals from coming into your front door, windows, car etc.

The nation states around the globe have the same capabilities as the NSA just depending on their budget.

It's really not that difficult to understand.

In the end if the president of the US see's a really threatening cyber attack coming from Russia/China/Korea where ever the "Red Phone" will be used to ask each country involved "do you really want to do this" Laughing Laughing What's a few billion in lost intellectual property, now if a few million people are to be taken out well that's a different matterSmile

The industry and global e-commerce that will be raised by building this false security will be huge but make no mistake about it there will always be a way in.

That's the way security works it's strong and weak at the same time!

Happy New Year!

Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

look, i didn't mention this to rewrite the same posts i wrote over several months. that was when i still thought there was hope for the interests of end users.

but after snowden, rudiger weiss, sprague at the tcg conference etc, i think end user protection is a side show. tcg is about control and authority.

the idea that open entry to the tcg conversation cures the disease of governments accessing end user devices and carriers and vendors bagging user communications is a nice idea. but i see no sign that this is what is happening.

where is the reference to general alexander saying he is persuaded that consumers should have privacy from nsa, or google saying it believes it would be a better world when it can no longer sell user data?

they are not signing up for that model of the virtual universe. they continue to see a world in which they dip into any pond they wish.

watch the video. these folks pour in through every crack in the shell of a pc. they have subverted sim. the device makers appear to design their products to give nsa what it wants.

tcg is a feudal trust architecture. end users have to trust colony supervisors. colony supervisors pay homage to governments.

the reliance isn't egalitarian and the trust isn't distributed.

the aim is to protect the status quo.
