Sun, you noticed! 
It was actually a little before Christmas, about 2 weeks ago but I had an awful time figuring out all the strokes and prerequisite combinations for software and hardware. (OpenGL ((about which I know about zero)) for instance doesn't necessarily come with all the drivers but is needed for v 7, nothing recent runs on XP, etc.etc.etc. And then of course I decided to do a NVidia and AMD card together, too much for a little brain like mine it turns out and on and on. I went at it I mean every free moment for about 10 days. 
I of course would have been better off standing back and getting a break which is how I finally fixed the last problem, fresh eyes.
Anyway, it's not even real new iron, just a used gtx 650 and a used 7870 off e-bay but now I'm liking them now that they're more or less tamed. I hate Win 8 but that will probably improve at least marginally.
There were too many teams just waltzing by us without huring lately, if you get by us I want it to be bloody and limping. 
It'll get better now thougb and just THINK how it's going to be when BAP gets his firepower straightened away and Micro gets the home office properly outfitted to handle the business he's going to be doin'. And maybe VG, etc.etc.
So yes, got a couple toys that gave me grief but are now my friends, thanks for noticing. Now let's go reclaim that bit of ground we gave up!
