hi doma,
i think chelsea's trophy count is variable with abramovich's investment.
as soon as city appeared with arab resources, chelsea stopped winning premiere league championships.
mourinho prefers to manage where the resources are unlimited and so it is hard to measure his quality as a manager.
i don't see winning by budget size as a strong measure of someone's genius. mourinho's spell with porto was his outstanding achievement.
now that he is with a club without special financial advantages, i'm curious to see how he does.
but chelsea under mourinho isn't the best team to watch. and i think they were better in the second half of last season under benitez.
actually i think we may be entering a new liverpool era. great manager, incredible striker (even if he does get hungry while playing every now and again).
anyone who follows the money knows that arsenal's trophy count dipped because the surplus income was used to fund the stadium. wenger's achievement in keeping the team in europe was extraordinary given that he has spent more-or-less net zero on players.
but the club is back in the transfer market with a major budget to spend. i think we'll win a championship within the next three years. but we're a world class striker light. i'd favour the purchase of messi. ;-)
meanwhile, i just enjoy watching them play. same with liverpool and city this year. but chelsea only sometimes.
