ha ha. snowden may pardon the us one day when it stops surveilling the whole world. it may take the rest of the world longer.
the trouble with obama is he talks a good game, but when it comes to punishing torturers and folks who lie to congress, or those who blow the whistle on government overreach, he chooses to be tough on the guys outside the scope of power and wet with those within it.
the variable is whether you are loyal to the hierarchy or protective of the people. obama turned out to be a hierarchical loyalist. those people don't do much change and so there's little hope they will offer it.
i'm thinking hillary may be too much of an establishment type also. i hope governor brown goes for it.
