Mitch McConnell And Alison Lundergan Grimes In Virtual Tie In Senate Race

Only 31 percent of those surveyed approve of the job McConnell is doing, making him the least popular senator in the country.
However, President Barack Obama has an equally poor 31 percent approval rate in Kentucky, which could hurt Lundergan Grimes as the campaign progresses. In a memo that Lundergan Grimes' campaign released to The Huffington Post, her campaign cited McConnell's negative approval ratings as a factor that could help her prevail. The Cook Political Report rates the race a "toss up."
Public Policy Polling surveyed 1,509 Kentucky voters from Dec. 12 to Dec. 15. The poll has a margin of error of 2.5 percent.
