Well, I made it home late friday night (but well before the airport curfew). The 400+ mile drive back to Chicago from Houghton, MI went without any new snow, except what was already on the ground. It was 1º when I left Houghton but it was 32º when I got to O'Hare in Chicago.
This was my last trip of the year (hopefully). This year I was out-of-town on business 63 days. My average over the last 25 years (as long as I've been keeping detailed records) is 62 days so it was pretty much a normal year. I traveled a total of 55,634 miles. Note that my average over those 25 years is 58,264 so the mileage was a bit below average but considering that I had no overseas travel this year, that sounds about right (last year I was in Shanghai for a week and next year I've got a trip to Italy on the docket).
Anyway, it feels good to have another year behind me. I'm in the office this week and then I'm off for the rest of the year, until January 6th. We don't have any plans this year except for a quiet Christmas as home. We will be going to a New Years Eve party with a group from our church like we've usually done when we're not out-of-town, but that's about it.
