It is still the role of the government to protect its citizens as best it can from those common threats that they cannot protect themselves from. Gun nuts are one of those common threats!

Gun nuts don't trust the government, especially going forward. Most want to protect themselves from the government. After Bush, Obama, the rise of the Wall Street Scumbags, and the imminent demise of the middle class, can you blame them?
