Well, well - here is someone who thinks as I do. I might add to your 'deemed too big to fail' group - insurance company.

KTC> A temporary national bank to resurrect our nation's finances while driving a wooden stake through the hearts of Wall Street Scumbags was just the ticket to rescue our country.

KTC,
How many 'temporary' federal doohickeys turned into
'permanent' governmental stupidities?

I agree that we should NOT have bailed out the
'wall street scumbags' . . . But as an example of
what a 'federal bank' might have done . . look at how
much money fannie and Freddie cost We the TaxPayers.

The correct answer is a mix of capitalism - to create
jobs . . . and socialism - to protect the workers and
the envirenments.

For my money the first thing that should have been
done would have been to re-enact Glass Steagall and
re-segregate the banking industry from wall street
from the insurance industries. If there was a banking
(or financial institution) deemed 'too big to fail',
it should have been broken into small pieces any or
all of which could have been allowed to fail.
