i think the seller had little to do w/ idcc's prospects...and much to do w/ there own prospects....there is so much that goes on behind the scenes that we have no clue about...things such as equity swaps...where a customer can get long or short shares w/o ever touching the actual market for shares...there also was an increase in options outstanding recently...which probably led to much of the recent short interest increase...seems to me the company is on the upswing...and there is a disconnect w/ the share price...which in my mind is the norm on wall street...i am no believer in the efficient market theory...especially w/ obscure stocks like idc...most of the time is spent being totally mispriced...

I'm interested to see the institutional numbers too.

If we have a net increase in institutional ownership of 1 million with only 625 thousand short interest increase during that same time period (June 30th to September 30th) going from a price of $44.65 down to $37.34 ... there is a disconnect.

I know this isn't a zero-sum game ... but with institutions (potentially) increasing nearly 400K above the short interest ... there was some serious leakage from the Retail folks and/or MMs humpin' around.
