Boston Red Sox Defeat St. Louis Cardinals to Win World Series
John Lackey pitched six and two-thirds innings and the Red Sox scored three runs in the third inning and another three in the fourth to beat the Cardinals, 6-1, and win the World Series, four games to two.
The Red Sox won their eighth championship over all and celebrated their title at Fenway Park for the first time since 1918.
