In my opinion, the only reason that the troll was able to purchase the patent is that the bullies in the industry refused to license from the original inventor. Thank goodness for the trolls because they at least provide the scientists an incentive to stay the course and continue to invent. This new crowd invading wireless have the same opinion regarding the intellectual property of others as the Chinese companies. They want to use your inventions for nothing. Nobody should feel sorry for the big manufacturers litigating with each other. They are making money daily. It is the starvation tactics being used on the small inventors that should not be tolerated.

Loop, I share your concerns about the “patent owner needing to post a bond, but could this not also be a way to awaken the actual trolls, (those who only buy and litigate) into reconsidering frivolous litigations?

I can only wonder what "provide for circumtances" might mean.

Second, the legistlation would provide for circumstances in which a court may require a patent owner to “post a bond sufficient to ensure payment of the accused infringer’s reasonable fees and other expenses, including attorney fees.
