"Wasn't it a Democrat named 'Johnson' who got U.S. into Vietnam?"

Actually it was a Republican name 'Eisenhower' who first sent US troops into Vietnam. Granted, it was Johnson who ramped-up the war to the levels that it eventually reached, but US troops had been there for years before Kennedy was elected and before Johnson assumed office when Kennedy was assassinated:

Clo> Have you considered the FACT that these people HAVE been running the Country since the beginning & lately haven't been doing such a bang up job?

Let me see, Clo,
From 1776 into Vietnam 'they' did a country fair job.

Wasn't it a Democrat named 'Johnson' who got U.S.
into Vietnam?

A Republican named Nixon got U.S. out of Vietnam.

Followed by a Democrat named Carter with 'Stagflation'.

Then another Republican named Reagan who brought U.S.
the 'Reagan Revolution' which left many of U.S.
proud to be Americans again.

After Reagan we had a Democrat named Clinton - which,
as it turns out, is synonymous with sleeze. Clinton
ended with a stock market collapse of epic
proportions. Clinton also repealed Glass Steagall -
a 1930's era Bill which had kept the U.S. from
many of the ills of the 2008 housing collapse for, what, seventy years?

After Clinton Bush Jr. engineered a recovery - built
largely upon a housing market bubble. Which collapsed
just in time for Obama . . .

Looking back, President Johnson created the welfare
state and its never ending deficit spending and the
creation of an American underclass.

But, yeah, WHO has been running the country lately?

Since Reagan I don't think we've had a President
most of U.S. would agree was 'good'.

Zim.
