We hit Solvang today for a good abelskiver fix, checked out the Santa Ines Mission, the local Lutheran Church, as well as the great little Solvang History Museum. Very nice folks, dedicated to preserving their heritage and history here.. Interesting ties to Northern CA, as well as Iowa, so many links..
I'd drive up and meet you except that I'm off to another one of my conferences on Monday, this time in Baltimore. This meeting is being hosted by the Maritime Institute, which is the US 'academy' for merchantmen, the school for maritime officers and able-bodied seamen.
This will be the 11th of my 15 conference tour for this fall (I just got back from Cincinnati and Denver last week). I've still got Detroit, Worcester (MA), San Jose and West Lafayette (IN) to go yet before the end of November as well as trip up to old alma mater in December with a possible meeting in Las Vegas for later in November.
