Hi Sun --
We all get 8018's more than we would when they for a while run out of Core 17 WU's, and with Core 17 being new, there are only a few (3 I think) different WU's, so it's more prevalent than it would normally be. Never personally been a beta tester but my impressions are that they're less likely to run out of those, but I actually don't know for sure, and that I DO know that they are, to use a highly scientific word, 'persnickedy', more subject to cause you grief without any compensating points increase. You're expected to report how they behave and compensate points-wise as well. Never done it myself though.
Yup, the 8018 points disparity has been brought up frequently and it's been also observed that it hurts higher-end NVidia cards more than average hardware, which I guess some would say makes it even more unjust. We just have to wait these out, I'm afraid. They mis-benchmarked them initially it seems and they now seem endless. When I look at the stats and I think ppl have machines down and they don't, we know it's bad.
Use the following on FAH7 if you still want to run beta, but I highly suggest you try the advanced flag instead first. Simply insert 'beta' for the word 'advanced' if you decide not to try it first.
Configure tab, Slots tab, double-click on the gpu line. On the resulting new page click the button next to GPU then look down to the bottom of the page and click on the +Add tab. In the popup for Name type in client-type and for Value type in advanced. Click OK in the box and then OK again at the bottom of the page, then Save at the bottom of the next page. NOTE that you might have to maximize the windows or even move them upward before you can see the referenced OK's and Save's at the bottom of the pages. I got stuck there before realizing this.
Go on back in and see if it 'took' after you think you're done.
There, glad you asked? lol
