so, in geopolitical think, if Israel is to Iran as the USSR was to the USA, and Syria is Viet Nam, then just continued supply of the Sunni contingent in syria would eventually sap the will of Iran on its project of a greater Shiite persia seeking to destroy Israel.
So Iran backs off and returns to containemnt, and Israel (as it is currently formulated) falls under its own weight -demographics coupled with on ongoing single apartheid state will fail, their failure to reach a two-state settlement will be their bane).
Turkey and Saudi Arabia are the China and the Cambodia in this mess, Israel is the USSR ... the US needs to make like the French !!
