I think the US image of itself depends too much on needing to be first in a conversation among unequals.

As US dominance recedes, it is going to have to concede that a useful conversation admits a certain amount of equality amongst the participants.

The world should adopt the best solutions to its problems, rather than always acquiesce with US demands.

It isn't as if wisdom only issues from Washington.
