I honestly think we should jump at the chance that the Russians just might have given the world a way-out of this conundrum. The only downside is that the Right-wing will use this to say that Obama is weak and not able to perform his duties as Commander in Chief. Of course, these same wingers would have been first in line to demand Obama's impeachment if anything went wrong in Syria. I suspect that Putin, despite his public rhetoric, has let Assad know that he is unwilling to go to war with the US over Syria and that perhaps now's the time that the Syrians look for a better deal than having their infrastructure and people become the targets for American cruise-missles and drones.
