...because IBM's employees have a contract that IBM has decided to ignore. If they can do that, the folks who pay your three "pensions" can decide to ignore them too. How come you only get upset when your own ox is being gored?

I've worked everyday of my life since I was 15 (except for a couple of years while I was in college) and am currently working for one of the largest corporations in the world and I'm not going to get a dime's worth of medical benefits when I retire despite having 3 pensions. So exactly why should anyone feel bad about the deal that those IBM retirees are going to get? It's a better than a lot of people are ever going to get, even those who've had a lifetime of full employment.
