To me, it looks like TPM 2.0 is a wrong turn outside the Five Eyes government marketplace.

So whatever hopes I have left are going to be tethered to a chip that is manufactured outside the orbit of aggressive sovereign interests.

China isn't it. The US isn't it. Maybe we will be rescued by Germany's history and the residual fear that lingers in Teutonic culture against the power of the state. I'm thinking particularly of the Stasi.

And I'm curious why the US has learnt so little from history that it is willing to flirt with the tools of totalitarianism. Being attacked is one thing. How a country responds is another. I believe in the long run virtues of liberty. But the US no longer seems to. Liberty is simply a veneer that covers the fear of uncontrolled accidents occurring.

Life, security and the pursuit of total safety.

I've noticed some folks repeating the thing about Wave being in a death spiral.

The remarkable thing about Wave's spiral is that it has a zombie at the bottom of it. It may be dead, but it keeps on going.
