Iraq is lookinjg good also.

A spate of car bombs in mostly-Shia neighbourhoods of the Iraqi capital has killed at least 45 people, security and medical officials said.

The bombings struck across Baghdad and left dozens of others wounded on Tuesday, in the latest in a trend of increased attacks in the evening as Iraqis visit cafes and other public areas.

About 77 people were wounded in the string of blasts.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Also, gunmen shot two people dead in Baghdad's southern Dora neighbourhood and four bodies with gunshot wounds to the back were found in different locations around the Iraqi capital, the officials said.

Violence in Iraq has intensified since April to levels not seen since 2008.

More than 4,000 people have been killed over the past five months alone, including more than 800 in August, according to figures provided by UN officials based in Iraq.

Oh Goody! More Muslims pissed at America.

WASHINGTON — Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel says President Barack Obama approved plans in June to give lethal aid to Syrian rebels, making the decision public for the first time.

Hagel and Sen. Bob Corker of Tennessee, the top Republican on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, both referred to the covert aid during a hearing on Obama's request that Congress approve military action against Syria.

Corker said he has been dismayed at the lack of support that has flowed to the rebels despite the promises of lethal aid.

Hagel acknowledged that Obama decided in June to send lethal aid to the rebels. He said the Pentagon has not been directly involved because it is "a covert action."

Officials have spoken quietly about the expected CIA aid but say none has been delivered.
