the interesting thing about the "evidence" against the syrian government is that it apparently included an interception of the syrian chap in charge of the chemical weapons programme asking who the heck had authorised their use.
if so, that tells you either (i) it wasn't authorised by the regime, or (ii) the regime is not operating as a homogeneous entity.
if it is the former, then it is up to syria to punish whoever was responsible.
if it is the latter, then it's even more messy than we are being told.
