Good Morning Clo!

I am trying to conjure in my mind the world without the American soldier.

In our heart of hearts we want to believe that America is Washington, and Jefferson, and Emerson and Thoreau. But it really isn't.

America is the blood of our children who went to war.

We are the descendants of warriors.

Is the life of an American teenager worth the human dignity of an Afghan girl?
Is Damascus worth 15 kids from the Missouri National Guard?

I am all for beating swords into plowshares, as I am all for that. I eagerly anticipate it.

What a crazy place the world is.

The Brotherhood. Hamas. Hezbollah. The Baaths.
The Alawites. The Shiites. The Sunnis
Bedouin tribes. Israelis. Egyptians. Tunisians.

Is Obama going to take us into another world war?

The French have had enough in Syria.

The Mediterranean is still an American sea.
Any threat to France brings the UK and the USA
instantly. The tripartite alliance is the foundation of civilization.
It doesn't matter who sleeps on Downing Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. Churchill and Roosevelt gave these young chaps their marching orders.

Anyway, Obama and Cameron and Hollande command the greatest military power that the world will ever see.

The three of them have shown what they are willing to do in Libya, Somalia, Egypt, Tunisia, Yemen, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The three of them are not afraid at all to toss their weight around.

I have no politics at this point because I am just a happy old man. Although my gut tells me that if this is just another Crusade, we damn well ought to win it.
