On this mornings Morning Joe. Joe Scarborough defended the states of North carolina and Texas by stating, in effect, that there is nothing wrong with asking for picture id's when going to the polls. He stated that picture id is required when renting a vidio from a vidio store or getting certain restricted prescription drugs. What he forgot to say was that these states have restricted early voting and have reduced polling places in minority areas. And also, that these states have restricted the ability of minorities to secure picture id's through various schemes including requiring birth certificates and other means to recieve a picture id. Many minorities, particularly older blacks, never got a birth certificate in the south or a drivers license because they never drove. These states have excluded a social security card as a method of proving identity.
Beyond that point, all states mail a voter registration card to every voter and apparently these states have precluded that as a method of identification just as well.
Regards,
Joe
To say that "God exists" is the greatest understatement ever made across space and time.
