Clo,

A liberal arts degree is never a waste of money. It enriches your life and your pocketbook.

If everyone learns a trade, then trades will pay nothing. Not everyone can do that sort of thing.

There is a difference between education and knowledge. You have to know how to put knowledge to work and an education helps you to do that. It gives you the tools that you need to be a discerning person able to make choices and realize when you are being fed a line of poop.

Paying something a month for a while to have the opportunity to a better overall life is just as important if not more so than going in debt for twenty or thirty years for a house. Plus, you can usually afford a better house if you have an education than you can afford if you don't.

I'm all for people joining the service and getting an education because they served their country for doing so. I'm also all for everybody spending a few years in national service like the Peace Corps and getting an education provided for doing so.

Sorry if I accused you of being anti education, college and intellectual but having known you for years it is apparent that is the case. Just call them the way I see them.

Have a nice day!!!!!

Regards,

Joe

Joe,

The REALITY is the 'liberal arts' degree you got would be considered a waste of a LOT of money today. Even becoming a 'lawyer' isn't worth much.
Engineers are in demand today.

Learning a 'trade' is a way to make a decent living in this climate of sending jobs overseas.

I am for continuous growth in education/knowledge.
You don't need to go to college or school to stretch your education, pick up a book, a newspaper, go to a museum a library, a zoo.

I do NOT believe anyone should go into hock for 20/30 years for a college degree.

My grandson joined the Navy, this way they will help him with his education without him going into hock!

For you to accuse me of being anti-education, anti-intellectual is an insult & I don't appreciate it!
