Joe,

The REALITY is the 'liberal arts' degree you got would be considered a waste of a LOT of money today. Even becoming a 'lawyer' isn't worth much.
Engineers are in demand today.

Learning a 'trade' is a way to make a decent living in this climate of sending jobs overseas.

I am for continuous growth in education/knowledge.
You don't need to go to college or school to stretch your education, pick up a book, a newspaper, go to a museum a library, a zoo.

I do NOT believe anyone should go into hock for 20/30 years for a college degree.

My grandson joined the Navy, this way they will help him with his education without him going into hock!

For you to accuse me of being anti-education, anti-intellectual is an insult & I don't appreciate it!

Clo,

I did not misunderstand anything! People are buying houses and spending one hundred percent of their salaries or more for them but you cannot see where investing in an education might provide a boost for the rest of your life. And you are using averages basicly to prove your point when the only point is that YOU are anti education and anti college and anti intellectual and you always have been. You would have people invest in a trade like beauty school that provides a modest income and lifetime disability for those who stand on their feet all day and trudge through like my mother did for forty years.
