I did not misunderstand anything! People are buying houses and spending one hundred percent of their salaries or more for them but you cannot see where investing in an education might provide a boost for the rest of your life. And you are using averages basicly to prove your point when the only point is that YOU are anti education and anti college and anti intellectual and you always have been. You would have people invest in a trade like beauty school that provides a modest income and lifetime disability for those who stand on their feet all day and trudge through like my mother did for forty years.

Joe,

I believe you're misunderstanding wil's point, just as you did my question to you.

YOU would NOT be able to afford your college degree today.
You consider your starting salary higher because of your degree, many graduates can't even get a job today, let alone one that would cover the college debt since the ratio today is 62% debt to income.
