I don't think it's about genes so much as panic post 9/11.

Greenwald is dripping news into the market to keep the pressure on and the story fresh. Otherwise the story would disappear with a fresh news cycle.

Didn't everyone read Orwell? The idea was to educate people to avoid making the mistake of excessive government control. Individual freedom competes for air with government power.

If you believe personal liberty builds strength in a society, then you have to trust it to deliver.

Anyone who favours mass surveillance is scared stoopid, uneducated or a closet East German.
