I sat out on my patio for about 90 minutes last night, until half-past-midnight, and saw a total of 6 meteors. Our sky is just too bright here in SoCal at least in the populated areas. I could have driven out toward the foothills, but I would have had to go at least 20 miles to find someplace darker than my backyard. Note that a couple of the meteors were pretty spectacular with one leaving a very bright trail that completely crossed the visible sky. Unfortunately the rate was simply too low to even attempt photographing any of them.
