The point is, one can have a soft front and a soft back, ot a hard front and a soft back. And is there a market for it. And how do we feel about it. And is the soft back to a hard front softer than it would otherwise be without the infrastructure.

I am befuddled by the notion of novelty in this whole back door thingy.

Some time ago somebody lost access to a TPM secured machine, can't remeber who, can't remember when, but the pointis the critical password they needed to unlock key access had been lost and not backed up.

They called Dell.

Dell asked for a serial number.

Dell served them a magic bullet. They got in.

Their brick became a computer again.

The point that a supplier could walk around the user and re-access a machine was thing well established for me at that point and some musing about it occurred on these various boards. The front was hardened, the back accessible.
