i'm not using billings. billings is a hodge podge of new and old stuff.

i am interested in new sales.

new sales are accounted for in the quarter in which they are invoiced, unless they are very significant. i'm not interested in significant orders. they are distortive. i'm interested in breadth.

so you can derive a figure (in ks) for new license sales by stripping out the old junk - Dell (3225), Safend (1115), GM (123), and BASF (142).

This gives a new license sales figure of $1,529 for this quarter against $1,099 for last quarter and $648 for the quarter before.

New license sales have been dreary forever. Suddenly they have taken off.

That is hugely significant if you are looking for incipient sales/demand.

And that is all that really matters.

I'm not thinking about breakeven. That isn't an issue if demand has arrived. I think it may have.

I didn't take the time to analyze rev using billings. I used Licensing rev/Q and deducted Dell's portion. In Q4,Q1 and Q2 the non-Dell contribution to Lic rev is 2.8, 2.5 and 2.9 respectively. Q1 is historicly weak - but I'm not seeing what you do. So,huh? back at ya.
