I'm more along the lines of Issac Newton who saw God as a sort of 'clockmaker' that once started is pretty much on it's own as to how it runs, evolves, repairs itself, etc.

I suspect that this does not quiet meet the criteria demanded by the 'creationists' but it at least allows for the notion that the universe is more than pure random gases spontaneously cuagulating out of nothingness.
