Mind you, the do-nothing congress, with an 8% approval rating, left on Friday for a 5 week vacation...

I'm not saying that being at work would secure Americans, but at least it would give the 'appearance' that they were WORKING on Something For the People.

Meanwhile Rome burns....

Okay, it's pretty obvious.

1. The US avoids exposing its military to harm by using NSA data to define targets and drones to hit them.

2. The people who are being bombed by drones seek human targets to revenge themselves but there are no soldiers to attack.

3. Embassies are full of American people in locations near to the drone strikes.

4. Embassies end up being bombed.

The US problems aren't cured using drones. They change locations to US Embassies.

For the fundamentalist Moslem bombers the problem is this.

1. Americans interfere in their region because they have the oil.

2. They dislike American interference in their region and so they make it unpleasant for the US to exert influence.

3. Americans are gradually moving away from Middle Eastern oil dependence in response to the headache of dealing with the Middle East.

4. As non-oil energy resources progress, the fortune of the Middle East will deplete.

5. Perhaps Islamic societies will end up with lots of religion and little wealth.

6. They will not gain any power thereby.

No one has a strategy that will result in a successful endgame in the short run.

In the long run, the West runs on alternative energy resources and the world is saved from climate change.

Maybe it isn't all bad.
