For myself, I think competition is also valuable.

But combinations of cooperation and competition are going to be ideal within dynamic environments.

So ... what does that tell us about human organisation?

It tells us that purely competitive environments are inefficient. And also that purely altruistic ones are also inefficient.

Or put another way, neither capitalism nor communism maximises utility.

Co-operation is the KEY to evolution....

If those first cells hadn't co-operated and formed large communities there would be no evolution. The individual cells within the community could then specialise
and a larger more complex cell evolved....until
we get 50 trillion cell membranes called humans.

We are 7 billion human cells in a membrane called
humanity......how does humanity evolve....?Smile
