...if this is a democracy, when was the election that outlawed slavery??? It's a constitutional representative republic, but it is not a democracy. Never has been, hopefully it never will be.

In this post #msg-826874 you informed us about slavery. However, up until 1865 slaves were owned in portions of the United States. Did we get rid of the democracy when we got rid of slavery and adopt a constitutional republic, or what?
