KTC,

I've driven through Detroit a couple of times returning from Canada and have never felt really comfortable there. The expressways going south out of Detroit are walled in many areas and we were reminded that the last time we went through there, there had been shooting at people traveling on those roads by people hidden on the side.

Morning Joe this morning had a discussion about the city and its plight. In some areas of the city, police response is over 100 minutes. People are spray painting their own homes with messages that if garbage is dumped there, they will shoot those who do so. Many parts of Detroit cannot buy new fire trucks because the fire houses are eighty years old and can no longer house new fire trucks. In some areas of the city, police cars are so old that they break down frequently along with other city vehicles.

Regards,

Joe

Morning OCU:

Have you been to Detroit? I haven't. You do have Michigan roots. I haven't even had conversation with any Detroiters. Maybe sports could spark a conversation.
